The 2018 Honda Ridgeline comes with new interior features for US market, with release date set for late months of 2017. Since powertrain is going to be carry over, we can say that Ridgeline’s specification will stay same as before. There are no news about hybrid variant, but we like surprises.
The Ridgeline is pickup truck from Honda, but it is not like other trucks. It shares platform with Pilot crossover SUV, which means that it doesn’t come with body – on – frame design. It comes with unibody configuration and only in double cab version. Compared to its competition, it has the worst towing and payload capacity. But, despite this, this “Pilot with and open bed” was finalist in “Truck of the 2017 year” by Motor Trend.
2018 Honda Ridgeline review
No Exterior changes
As we said before, the Ridgeline shares platform with Pilot SUV. This unibody truck also comes with independent rear suspension which improves its handling and makes driving more smoothly than traditional trucks. They are usually done with body – on – frame technology and their rear suspension comes with leaf – springs.
The 2018 Honda Ridgeline comes with seven trim levels, like its predecessor. This list includes RT, RTS, Sport, RTL, RTL – T, RTL – E and top Black Edition. It was refreshed with last year model, and it increased in all ways. On the front, it comes with advanced lightning, which includes LED projector headlights with available auto high – beam and LED daytime running lights. The new Ridgeline is going to be available in seven exterior colors: Copperhead Red Pearl, Forest Mist Metallic, Lunar Silver Metallic, Modern Steel Metallic, Crystal Black Pearl, Obsidian Blue Pearl and White Diamond Pearl.

Ridgeline’s bed comes equipped with dual – action tailgate and also with In – bed Trunk for more space and with lockable function. Last year, it was the first pickup – truck with audio system in its cargo area (bed). Rear window comes powered with sliding function and with defroster for cooler climate.
Most of the updates we can expect inside the cabin, especially with the US model. Since US model came without rear climate – control panel, ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, but they are available with Canadian model, we expect that this will be corrected with 2018 Honda Ridgeline. When it comes to interior space, the Ridgeline is in front of its competition.
Behind the steering wheel is placed 4.2-inch full – color Multi – information display that offers multiple information and one of them is turn – by – turn navigation that uses integrated navigation or Android Auto navigation application. On the left side is placed analog tachometer and right side is reserved for fuel – level and coolant – temperature gauge.
When it comes to infotainment system, the new 2018 Ridgeline features 5-inch Audio display, which operates with Android system as standard, while an 8 – speed touchscreen Audi display is going to be available with higher trims. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity is standard while it also integrates SiriusXM Radio, HD Radio, HondaLink connected – vehicle system and Pandora interface.
Safety and Driver – assistance features
Just like the all Honda vehicles, and Ridgeline is designed to achieve 5 stars for safety. This includes a lot of safety features, passive and active, and also driver – assist technologies. This includes Motion – adaptive electric power steering, Vehicle stability assist with traction control, Anti – lock brakes with brake assist and with electronic brake distribution. We expect that all 2018 – year Ridgeline models will be equipped with Honda Sensing system. It integrates Adaptive cruise control, Collision mitigation braking system, Forward collision warning, Lane departure warning, Lane keeping assist system and Road departure mitigation.

2018 Honda Ridgeline release date and price
We expect that the release date of the 2018 Honda Ridgeline should be in late months of 2017, while its presentation could be in fall, at one of the auto shows.
