The new 2019 Subaru Forester is going to be built on the new Subaru Global Platform. Its redesign is going to be based on the Subaru Ascent crossover. This three-row crossover was presented to public at the 2017 New York Auto Show. The new 2019 Forester will come with turbo flat and hybrid powertrains.
Under the camouflage we can notice some exterior changes. Its bigger size promises more room for passengers and their cargo. Powertrain list should remain the same as before but we expect some electrification on this generation. That means that we expect from Subaru to keep pace with other manufacturers and to present to us hybrid of plug-in version of the new Subaru Forester 2019. Main rivals are going to be Ford Escape, Toyota RAV4, Nissan Rogue, Honda CR-V, Volkswagen Tiguan and Chevy Equinox.
2019 Subaru Forester redesign news
First change that we can notice when we look at the new Subaru Forester is its size. This one, that we saw testing on the public roads, looks quite bigger than the current model. That’s the reason why we expect more interior room with new Forester. Its signature grille and boxy appearance originate from its predecessor. Its rear end doesn’t slope back too much while corners of the car are pushed forward. This changes give it a bit more appearance of the truck.
When it comes to front fascia we can notice that the headligths wrap around more than before while their position is a bit higher. There are no lower vents anymore, so we can expect a more conventional front bumper. On the rear of the car, taillights design is based on the new Crosstrek and Impreza. They also spread into the rear trunk door. List of exterior colors is still unknown, and there will be some changes compared to current model. The current 2018 Forester is available in eight exterior colors: Crystal Black Silica, Crystal White Pearl, Dark Gray Metallic, Ice Silver Metallic, Jasmine Green Metallic, Quartz Blue Pearl, Sepia Bronze Metallic and Venetian Red Pearl.
